Crafton Children's Corner believes that children learn through play. Children go through developmental levels and our program promotes these levels through appropriate practices.

Infants need to know they are loved and cared for. Our staff will generously meet these needs through holding and snuggling. The infants are stimulated each day through sensory activities. They tend to respond with affection, compliance and the courage to try new tasks. Infants need to explore what is around them and to learn about the world in ways best suited to their own unique personalities.

Our toddler and preschool programs enhance socialization. Our planned curriculum for toddlers, preschoolers and kindergartners focuses attention on the five major areas of child development. Cognitive, Gross Motor, Fine Motor, Social-Emotional and Self Help Skills.

We incorporate these areas into our instructional program through Art, Language Development, Reading, Science, Math, Physical Education, Music and Perceptual activities that are developmentally appropriate and promote intellectual stimulation in the young child.

Since Pennsylvania does not have an official "cut off" date for school entrance there can be confusion in one's mind about when a child should start school. Most of the surrounding districts have made September 1st the date by which a child needs to be five before school entrance. Crafton Children's Corner has adopted October 1st as its cut off date for Kindergarten. If your child won't be five by October 1st in a given year, perhaps our Transitional Program is worth your consideration.
